Privacy Policy
Effective TBD — set before launch
Two things are covered here
This policy covers both this website and theStatlete mobile app. They collect very different amounts of data, so we have kept them separate throughout.
The website
This site is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and embeds no third-party trackers. The only information it collects is what you type into the waitlist form.
- Email address, if you submit the waitlist form. It is sent to our form provider and used for one purpose: to tell you when the app launches.
The waitlist form is handled by a third-party provider — TODO: name the provider and link their privacy policy. Your email is stored on their systems as well as ours. You can ask us to delete it at any time using the contact address below.
Our web host records standard server logs, which may include IP addresses, for security and operational purposes.
The mobile app
What we collect
- Email address — used to create and secure your account.
- Display name — chosen by you and shown to other players on leaderboards. Do not use your full legal name if you would rather not be identifiable.
- Quiz results — your answers, scores, streak length, and how you rank. This is what makes the leaderboards work.
- Basic device and diagnostic data — app version, operating system version, and crash reports.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or health data. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
How we use it
- To run your account and keep it secure.
- To calculate scores, streaks, and leaderboard positions.
- To fix bugs and understand where the app is failing.
- To contact you about your account or a material change to this policy.
Service providers
We use Google Firebase and Google Cloud Platform for authentication, database storage, and hosting of app data. Your account information and quiz results are stored on Google's infrastructure and processed under Google's terms as our subprocessor. See theFirebase Privacy and Security page for details.
TODO: complete this list with all remaining subprocessors.
Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information — email address and display name — within 30 days, other than anything we are legally required to keep.
We may keep anonymised, aggregate quiz statistics — for example, what percentage of players got a given question right — after deletion. This data cannot be linked back to you.
Deleting your account and data
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing statlete.app@gmail.com from the address on your account. We will confirm once it is done.
TODO: document the in-app account deletion flow — Apple requires one.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Contact us at statlete.app@gmail.com and we will respond within the period required by applicable law.
Children
Statlete is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy materially, we will update the effective date above and notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
